Sometimes it is enough to copy one folder here, but usually you need to do something else – for example, upload files to the " content" or " DLC" folders. This is where the most important files are located. In the root folder of the game, you will find the " Mods" folder (if it is not there, just create it). Personally, I prefer to download mods manually. Most of the changes are not supported by this tool – sometimes using the manager causes problems instead of making it easier to install. Nexus Mod Manager is a great solution, for example, in Bethesda games, but the Witcher 3 doesn't work as well. Double-clicking the left mouse button starts the installation.
The downloaded modifications will appear in the Nexus Mod Manager window. Just click on the "Mod Manager Download" icon for this method – the file will start downloading. Now you can download modifications from Nexus Mods pages using the Vortex. Otherwise, you will have to set it manually. If the path to the game matches, confirm it. Nexus Mod Manager will start scanning your computer for compatible games. Vortex is a tool for downloading and installing modifications, the program is integrated with the Nexus Mods website, which means that mods can be downloaded with a few mouse clicks. Place the " content" and " Mods" folders in the root directory of the installed game and agree to replace the files. You can download the patch from our FTP servers. 
The differences between them are minor, but this causes problems with the compatibility of mods – the solution is the Unification Patch. Since the release of the GOTY version, the Witcher 3 has been available in two versions.
A good habit is to back up the files you tamper with. Remember that any interference with the game files – that is, for example, installing mods – can result in undesirable consequences.
